Battlefield 4 Squads Feature Now Live For All Platforms, Except PC

By   /   May 6, 2014

Finally, the Battlefield 4 squads feature is live, which means you will be able to join up with four of your friends and play the multiplayer modes together. This squad grouping will stay intact in the different rounds, but five players is the maximum limit.

The beta version of the feature is now available for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, while the PC version was not mentioned.

DICE wrote on the Battlefield blog:

We would like to add that Squad Join Beta is the first iteration of the feature. We will continue to add features and tweaks based on your feedback and comments, and are aiming to release the next version of Squad Join when Battlefield 4 Dragon’s Teeth arrives this summer.

Moreover, DICE emphasize that this is just the beta version of the feature and is available to play only in the Conquest, Rush, Obliteration, Team Deathmatch and Domination game modes for the base maps of the Battlefield 4. However, improvements in the feature are expected to land in the future as DICE receive feedback from the players.

The blog also provides a guide for joining the squads:

To join Battlefield 4 as part of a squad, simply choose “Squad Join Beta” in the game’s multiplayer menu. Here you will be able to see a list of active squads, or create your own. A list of the five slots will appear, with the squad leader indicated by a star. When you’re good to go, just initiate quickmatch to join a game, and you’ll be in-game with your squad mates, ready to bring your team to victory.

You will have the option of leaving and re-joining the squads at your convenience and you can also join the already made squads to enter the game right away, instead of waiting.

Will you be trying out the Squads feature?
