GOG.com Puts Up Unbelievably Ubi Promotion With 40 Games
Online store GOG.com is holding an Unbelievably Ubi promotion this week. It puts up over 40 titles from publisher Ubisoft at a 60% discount.
Those who know GOG.com know that it stands for “Good Old Games.” Therefore, the games in question are all classics, with a few exceptions here and there.
Among the list of games, you’ll find known franchises such as Far Cry, Assassin’s Creed or Splinter Cell. They’re not the new iterations, but at least you can pick up these games DRM-Free, without any issues with Uplay.
Moreover, most games in the promotion cost between $2.39 and $3.99. This is particularly good news for European fans, as GOG.com employs a single currency model, as one of the last major retailers to do so.
Previously, online storefronts like Humble announced that their business model would let them switch to regional pricing, to fit some publishers’ demands. Instead, GOG.com decided to listen to its customers and work with publishers by cutting the store’s profits, instead of charging through to their users.
Fans of strategy titles are extra blessed with the Unbelievably Ubi promotion, since there are a whole slew of Might & Magic games at a 60% discount. This includes the Heroes of Might and Magic 5 bundle, which offers quite a bit of content that still feels contemporary.
If you want a specific suggestion: Don’t miss out on the Imperialism strategy series. Its empire building with diplomacy options may be a bit hard to get into, but its accurate portrayal is a rare occurrence that’s really intelligent.
You have until Tuesday to grab games from the Unbelievably Ubi promotion. Let us know in the comments if you happen to pick up a few.
