Housing System Revealed For H1Z1
Sony Online Entertainment hosted a design meeting today for their upcoming free to play Zombocalypse title H1Z1; where the team explained some of the upcoming features of the game.
H1Z1 will introduce a Housing System which can either serve as a stronghold or an execution chamber for the survivor. Players will have to make use of the crafting system to create objects that can serve as barricades for the house.
According to Sony crafting will be very extensive when it comes to making barricades and defenses. The barricades will be prone to damage and can be destroyed or dragged around by the zombie horde. Stronger barricades will offer more protection and can be made as long as you have the necessary materials.
Other than choosing strong materials for barricades, players will also need to come up with strategies and behaviors depending on the situation. The zombies in H1Z1 are smart and can easily get access inside houses. Hence players will have to fortify the most vulnerable areas of the house like windows; which if left alone can serve as an entrance point for the undead. The zombies will always try breaking windows and climbing in.
As the player progresses in the game, the barricades will get stronger. It all depends on the player’s experience, availability of stronger resources and a knack of knowing which places to defend.
H1Z1 is slated for a Summer 2014 release on the PC and PlayStation 4.
