By   /   Apr 23, 2014

Rumors last week indicated that Ubisoft is developing a new 2D Prince of Persia game with the help of UbiArt Framework Engine and now Ubisoft has pulled a Twitter account of one of their employees who tried to tease the next entry in the series.

prince of persiaUbisoft Reflection’s Employee ‘Drew James posted the tweet (above) yesterday to tease the new entry in the Prince of Persia franchise but soon after the tweet, his account was deleted.

The next game in the series is rumored to be in development at Ubisoft Montpelier, which was considered to be working on Beyond Good and Evil 2. The game will use the same engine that was used to make the Rayman series and the upcoming title Child of Light.

New Prince of Persia game will go back to its roots and will include 2D visuals and the report also suggested that most of the jumping and sword fighting animations of the game have already been done.

The last game in franchise, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands was released back in 2010. The more important question here is not the existence of a 2D Prince of Persia but whether fans will like it.
