In today’s video, we discuss something subjective – are video game remasters good or bad? And...
Games Expected to Appear at E3 2014, Stakes are High
It’s been five months since Sony’s Playstation 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One released and more than a year since Nintendo’s Wii U hit the market. Since then, there has been endless debate as to which console is number one. Putting raw computing power, third-party applications, voice-commands, and designs aside, games are the one of the biggest deciding factor here.
Although each company managed to deliver some of the best Launch Titles, every fan is eagerly waiting for E3 2014. Over the past couple of month, we have been hearing all sorts of rumors about different games that are scheduled to make an appearance at E3, this year. With games like Halo 5, next Mass Effect, and next Uncharted, this is certainly going to be one of the most hyped E3.
On a side note, this is not just battle of exclusives since we cannot afford to leave PC enthusiasts behind. Read on to know about games that may or may not make an appearance at E3 2014.
Assassin’s Creed: Comet
Assassin’s Creed: Unity was confirmed back on March 21, 2014. The game is said to be set during French Revolution featuring a new protagonist Arno. The only downside of this installment is that it is not slated for a Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 release.
However, we have been hearing rumors about another Assassin’s Creed titled as Assassin’s Creed: Comet which will solely release on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, or may be on Wii U. There is no solid evidence to back this up, but E3 will certainly clear things up.
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
Just a fortnight ago, Gearbox officially announced Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. The game is said to take place between the events of the original Borderlands and Borderlands 2.
The game will have Athena the Gladiator, Wilhelm the Enforcer, Nisha the Lawbringer, and Fragtrap as playable characters. In addition to this, each character will have unique abilities. We expect more information on E3 2014.
Batman: Arkham Knight
Batman: Arkham Knight will bring an end to Batman Trilogy by Rocksteady Games. The game is said to be bigger and better than previous two titles. The finale will push Batman to his limits and he will face his worst nightmares to save Gotham once and for all.
The developer has announced that the game will only be available for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC. Batman: Arkham Knight will feature a livelier and larger Gotham City and for the first time in the history of Batman games, Batmobile will be drivable. Although we already have a ton of details about the game, an E3 presentation won’t hurt.
The Legend of Zelda for Wii U
It’s been several years since Nintendo has been teasing fans with The Legend of Zelda HD edition for Wii U, but nothing got confirmed. This game can certainly turn the tides for Wii U in terms of sales.
Here’s to hoping that Nintendo will unveil something related to The Legend of Zelda at the forthcoming E3. Personally, I’m not hoping for a gameplay demo as an announcement would be more than sufficient.
If I don’t see Halo 5 this year, Destiny will sure help me keep my sanity intact. This first-person shooter by Activision is sure as shooting to make an appearance at this year’s E3.
A public beta is also underway and is expected to kick off in summers, 2014. Currently, the game is only slated to release on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and Xbox One with a possibility for PC release.
Dishonored II: Darkness of Tyvia
There have a lot of evidences that suggest Dishonored II: Darkness of Tyvia will make an appearance on this year’s E3. It is being said that the game will feature a new protagonist with new powers and unique abilities at his disposal.
A little is known about the platforms on which the game will release, but if a leaked image is to be believed, it will be available on PC, Xbox, and Playstation; no mention of generation of these consoles was present.
Resident Evil 7
Resident Evil 7 has been in the talks for so long. Just recently, a Japanese newspaper hinted at a new Resident Evil title for Playstation 4 which will be revealed at this year’s E3.
Although the newspaper only mentioned Playstation 4, it is hard to believe that Capcom will make it an exclusive title. Other than this, a little is known about the game. Hopefully, E3 2014 will bring out more information!
If there is one thing that is sure to boost Xbox One sales, it’s Halo 5 or whatever it will be called! Not much is known about the upcoming game, but Microsoft’s Phil Spencer has confirmed that an important announcement is expected at E3 2014.
Along with this, we have also been hearing rumors about a Halo game releasing this year, but Halo 2 Anniversary Edition seems like a stronger candidate for that.
Metroid for Wii U
While we talk about Wii U titles, Metroid seems like a perfect title to be unveiled at this year’s E3. There have been rumors about a Metroid game in development at Retro Studios, but other than this, not much is known.
The Legend of Zelda along with Metroid will skyrocket the sales for Wii U. This is definitely one of the games that I would like on E3.
There is certainly no doubt that Fallout 4 is imminent. Bethesda has hinted that the next Fallout game will definitely make it to the PC and the current-gen of consoles.
However, the developer didn’t provide any kind of information and only said that fans should ‘wait a while’ until an announcement is made. I’ve my fingers crossed for a tiny bit of information related to Fallout 4.
Far Cry 4
There is no solid information related to Far Cry 4 is available, but Eurogamer is certain that the game will release somewhere in 2015 and an announcement will be made at this year’s E3.
It is also being said that the game is in development for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC and will be set in Himalayas where players will be able to ride elephants. The game will also carry many features like Crafting from Far Cry 3.
A teaser trailer released last year confirmed the development of the next Uncharted game on Playstation 4. In addition to this, Sony’s President Shuhei Yoshida also hinted that the game has been in development for over three years.
Not much is known about the upcoming game, but it is expected to set the E3 2014 stage on fire.
Next Gears of War
Gears of War and next Mass Effect will certainly urge fans to buy an Xbox One. You may already know that Black Tusk Studios will be overlooking the development of next Gears of War game.
Microsoft’s Phil Spencer firmly holds that they have the right team to develop the next Gears of War, but they need some time to do so. Take all the time you need Spencer, but an E3 reveal would be more than welcome!
The Next Mass Effect
No matter how much disappointed every fan got with the ending of Mass Effect 3, everyone is eagerly waiting to get their hands on the upcoming Mass Effect game.
BioWare has confirmed that the upcoming Mass Effect game will feature a new protagonist, a new setting, and will not be linked to Commander Shepherd’s story in anyway. The developer also believes in taking their time to develop the game and don’t want to rush it, but again, some sort of E3 presentation would be amazing!
Sleeping Dogs: Triad Wars
Last year, United Front Games teased a blurry shot of what looked like Sleeping Dogs: Triad Wars. The developer has confirmed that the game will take place in the same universe as Sleeping Dogs.
No release date and expected platforms has been divulged, but I’m hoping that it will make it to both current-gen and last-gen consoles. Hopefully, a gameplay demo will be revealed at this year’s E3.
