New Fatal Frame Game Coming to Wii U, Other Stuff Announced as Well
Fatal Frame, also known as Zero in the Japanese region and Project Zero in Europe received its last original entry in 2008, called Fatal Frame Mask of the Lunar Eclipse. Since then there hasn’t been news for another title in the series, until now. We have picked up news that a new Fatal Frame game is being developed, this time for the Wii U platform.
The survival horror is being developed by Tecmo Koei and published by Nintendo as many of the previous game in the series. The announcement regarding their plans for the new Fatal Frame game came through Famitsu where they failed to share the official name of the game as well as the projected release date.
That is not all, the developer has also announced that they plan to do more for expanding the franchise; numerous multimedia expansions are also planned.
The first one of them is going to be a live action film by Kadokawa Corporation. Models Ayami Nakajo and Aoi Morikawa who are famed for their work with Seventeen Magazine are going to star in the film that is being directed by Mari Asato of Bilocation. The film, whose name wasn’t shared is expected to be released this fall.
Thereon, an original novel is being written based around the universe of Fatal Frame. It’s being written by Eiji Ostuka – famed for The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service and Multiple Personality Detective Psycho – and published by Kadokawa Horror Bunko. Lastly, a comic is being written up by Shin Kibayashi aka Tadashi Agi, the writer of Kindaichi Case Files.
