There has been a lot of speculations going around regarding the announcement of next Resident Evil game, most of these guesses indicate that Capcom will announce Resident Evil 7 at this year’s E3 in June and that could be true.

According to a popular Japanese newspaper Sankei Shimbun, a very important PlayStation 4 game will be announced by Capcom during E3 event this year, which is likely to be Resident Evil 7 and the company expects that the game will sell more than 5.6 Million copies just like the previous titles.

Although the article only talks about the PS4 version, there is no mention of exclusivity of the title. Also, Capcom would like to make their game more accessible to the fans and wouldn’t want to be bound by one console.

Resident Evil series has been going downhill after a hugely popular Resident Evil 4 in 2005, since then Capcom has released iterations like Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 but none of them could match the standard of the series.

For now, we will just have to take the newspaper’s word for it, until an official announcement is made by Capcom. We will keep you posted as more information on the game is available.
