By   /   Apr 19, 2014

At the start of this year, it was reported that DC comics were developing an animated series that will feature the Arkham universe of the Batman video games that have gained enormous popularity in the last few years, and all those reports were true.

The animated feature film is called Batman: Assault on Arkham and will have some of the best villains from the comics like Joker, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Suicide Squad and other major super villains of the series.

As you can see in the trailer, the government has hired the Suicide Squad, which consists of Harley Quinn, Killer Frost, Deadshot, King Shark and Captain Boomerang to find the bomb that has been planted in the city by Joker.

Batman will be voiced by Kevin Conroy, who has previously provided the sounds for him in the first two games and in the Batman: The Animated Series. Troy Baker will take back his role from Batman: Arkham Origins as the Joker while Martin Jarvis will be doing voice over for Alfred Pennyworth.

Currently, there is no release date set for Batman: Assault on Arkham but it is quite likely that it will hit the market after the Batman: Arkham Knight has released for the next-gen consoles.
