Watch Dogs eBook Dark Clouds Announced, Serves as Sequel to Game
There is still more than a month left in the release of their upcoming hacking based game, but Ubisoft has already announced a sequel to it – albeit in another form. Dark Clouds is a Watch Dogs eBook that will ‘pick up where the Watch Dogs video game leaves off.’
The developer has shared a video along with a press release announcing that the Dark Clouds will be released alongside the game on May 27, 2014 in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. Moreover, it will be released in the form of a classic eBook as well as an upgraded version that will have both videos and images.
The Watch Dogs eBook, Dark Clouds is being authored by John Shirley who has other works like ‘A Song Called Youth’ and ‘Everything is Broken’ to his name. With over 30 titles to his name in the genre, he is known among the hacker community and the cyberpunk movement.
While talking about the plot of the Dark Clouds, he shed light on the new characters:
The novel introduces Mick Wolfe, an ex-military, who get caught in a dangerous game in Chicago’s hyper connected and violent underground. Working with Thomas Geffroyd and Kevin Shortt at Ubisoft to develop the book was a rocking experience – Ubisoft is right out there on the frontier of videogame development. I couldn’t ask for more inspiration.
