Sony’s New Bravia 4K TVs Launch in June; Will Be PlayStation Now-Ready
Sony has announced that its upcoming lineup of 4K Ultra HD Bravia television sets are set for launch in June and will be PlayStation Now-ready.
There will be a total of nine different models to choose from three different Bravia series. The models will vary in size, ranging from 49 to 85 inches wide. The cheapest of the lot will go for $2,100 and from there will run up to $25,000.
The television sets being PlayStation Now-ready means that consumers will be able to utilize the power of Sony’s cloud streaming services and stream or play PlayStation 3 games with a DualShock 3 controller directly through their TV.
“We continue to be the only company that offers a complete lineup of consumer 4K products, including TVs, front projectors, cameras, and camcorders, while also leading the industry in providing 4K content,” said Mike Fasulo, president at Sony Electronics. “We strongly believe 4K is the future for entertainment, and we remain committed to leading the 4K movement, from lens to living room, in a way that only a company like Sony can.”
In its original announcement Sony had promised that consumers would be able to stream not only PlayStation 3 games through their cloud service, but also PlayStation One and PlayStation 2 titles. The new Bravia sets though will allow you to access only PlayStation 3 titles.
