Team Zephyr Wraps Up Korea Dota 2 League S1 With Ease
Team Zephyr has annihilated MVP.Phoenix to win the first season of Korea’s Dota 2 league and in turn gained the rights to call themselves the best Dota 2 team in the said region.
In the final best of five series, Zephyr crushed them consecutively in three matches and walked away with $10,000, while MVP.Phoenix went away empty handed.
This is the second major victory for the North American team ever since they switched regions a few months back. The first being Nexon Sponsorship League Season 3 where they won a massive $56,500 prize pot.
The team is now looking towards upcoming qualifiers of The International 2014 Dota 2 Championship. With Zephyr’s confidence and morale at its peak, William ‘BlitZ’ Lee and company will be looking to provide the same dominating performance which they have in Korea.
This year’s International will see to 11 teams being invited directly, as well as four Regional Qualifiers taking place May 12th through the 25th. The winner of each Qualifier will receive an invitation, with the four runner-ups competing in Seattle for the final spot.
It was recently revealed by Valve that the venue’s 10,000 seats got sold out in less than an hour after going on sale.
