MechRunner Combines Third Person Shooter With Endless Runner
Spark Plug Games, an indie game studio, has announced that their third-person endless-running title MechRunner will be hitting the PC, PS4 and Vita this July, provided that their Kickstarter is successful.
The development studio has also collaborated with concept artist Josh Nizzi of the Avengers, Iron Man, and Transformer films. According to Vice president and art director for Spark Plug, Ben Lichius, MechRunner is going to feature “some of the most detailed, amazing looking mechs to ever appear in a video game.”
In the game players take control of a Mech which is capable of transforming into a tank and thus taking on an evil robot army through war-torn Europe. Transforming into the tank changes the game into a runner, similar to games like Subway Surfers, whilst transforming into a mech changes the game into a third person shooter.
While the game is ready to play, the developer started the Kickstarter to gather 25,000$ in crowdfund to polish the game some more before they launch. Stretch Goals include new weapons, mechs and levels.
The campaign has just begun and with 32 days to go, it has so far acquired almost $1000.
