Minecraft Pocket Edition Has Sold Over 21 Million Copies, Yet Another Milestone
Minecraft needs no introduction, the game has become a phenomenon in the gaming industry since its release in 2009 and the sales of the game reflect the game’s popularity.
The Minecraft: Pocket Edition which was released on mobiles in 2011 has now sold more than 21 million copies which is 14 million more copies than the game’s sales on consoles or PC.
This is according to a tweet from one of the Minecraft mobile developer, Jens Bergensten:
MC:PE has sold over 20 million copies (actually, over 21M), so we’re going to have a live broadcast on Monday: https://t.co/5p38eaIaqm

To celebrate the 20 Million milestone, Mojang has decided to host a live broadcast for the members of the ubiquitous Reddit forum. The members will be able to ask questions to Mobile developers of the game, including the lead developer Jens Bergensten.
Minecraft Pocket Edition has been on the first spot on the Android’s Play Store paid games and on the second spot on the Apple’s App Store for quite a long time now.
The game is 30th top grossing game on both the Play Store and App Store with some Free-to-play titles ahead of it.
Minecraft has now sold over 35 Million copies across multiple platforms and there doesn’t seem to be anything that will stop this number from increasing any time soon.
