Ubisoft Brings Red Storm to Work on The Division

By   /   Apr 9, 2014

Ubisoft is pouring all of its resources into its highly anticipated upcoming online shooter, Tom Clancy’s The Division. The publisher has announced that it has asked Red Storm to assist in the game’s development. Red Storm is known for its work on Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six, and will now be working with Ubisoft Massive.

The announcement does not reveal what exactly Red Storm will be working on for The Division. We only know that the newly added force will be putting its expertise with weapon authenticity to use by overlooking design and artwork for weapons, amongst other things.

Based in North Carolina, Red Storm is known for its relationships with known arms manufacturers. With access to firearms, the studio has been able to recreate authentic arms, vehicles and more in titles. Those skills will be valuable for The Division.

Previously Ubisoft Reflections was added to the project in February 2014. Almost 40 percent of its work force is currently working on The Division.

The Division is scheduled for a release later this year for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
