PS4 and Xbox One Added ‘Scale and Detail’ to Batman: Arkham Knight – Dax Ginn

Although the much-awaited finale of Batman Games from Rocksteady won’t be seeing a last-gen release, the studio is endeavoring hard to make this a true current-gen experience by utilizing the power of both Xbox One and Playstation 4.

While speaking to GamerHubTV, the producer Dax Ginn stated that the raw power under the hoods of Xbox One and Playstation 4 provided them with a chance to develop a game containing both ‘Scale and Detail’.

Next-gen for us has really opened up the opportunity to deliver, not just the detail that we’ve always been committed to in our previous games, but to [Now] do that on an epic scale. Scale and detail, it’s usually one or the other, but with next-gen you can really do both.

He further added that both Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City were highly detailed games, but they wanted to do more with Batman: Arkham Knight and for this sole purpose they undertook different creative and technical challenges.

Arkham Asylum and Arkham City were both highly detailed game worlds. We really wanted to take that to the next level in Batman: Arkham Knight. To do it on [This] scale, we’re building out the entirety of Gotham City at that kind of level. It’s a huge creative and technical challenge, but that was something we were really passionate about doing.

Just recently, the Art Director discussed how the development team came across Batmobile and revamped Gotham City which is much lively than before.

Batman: Arkham Knight is slated to release on October 14, 2014 for PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4.
