The Crew is Larger Than GTA V, Far Cry 3, Forza Horizon and Skyrim Combined

Ubisoft’s online open-world driving game The Crew was recently announced to release this Fall on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. With the release date out of the way, the publisher can now focus on driving the hype train and encouraging everyone to hop on board.

We already know that it’s going to take players a whole 90 minutes to continuously drive across its 6,213 miles of open road. Today we get to know just how big the game’s world really is.

Creative Director Julian Gerighty revealed that the open-world is larger than the worlds of GTA V, Red Dead Redemption, Forza Horizon, Need for Speed: Rival, Far Cry 3 and Skyrim combined. That’s a huge statement and one which players would be anxiously waiting to test out.

“In terms of size, our New York is about the same size of Liberty City in GTA IV,” Julian said. “But on top of that we’ve got Chicago, Detroit, St Louis, Miami, Dallas, Las Vegas, Seattle, San Francisco and all of these cities – I insisted on including Detroit because of the heart of Motor City. But it’s not just these cities: it’s everything in-between. So it’s a very big game.”

With the release window known, expect The Crew to hit retail just before the holidays.
