Wolfenstein: The New Order Gameplay Trailer Goes Sixties

By   /   Apr 8, 2014

There’s quite the flair displayed in the latest trailer for Wolfenstein: The New Order. Its start may befuddle you with a little, but stay tuned. It will get better, we guarantee.

After trying to tie itself to the upcoming football world cup and its bloody result, the trailer solidifies what it would look like if the Reich took over power after the war. For the rest of the game, we take to the swinging sixties era, except there’s not so much to dance about.

In fact, the world is more of a giant prison dystopia, where officers in dark uniforms oversee a variety of atrocities. This comes with some gory chunks you’d expect from a totalitarian regime.

There are also a few gameplay bits here and there.  For one, Wolfenstein: The New Order will have robots, because robots are cool.

It’s also possible to take down Nazis with just more than firepower. One section shows off a finisher done from behind.

Still, gun power is important, so the trailer shows off a lot of locking and loading. Then, there’s dual wielding a whole mess of firearms.

For more explosive needs, there’s a grenade launcher, as well as the regular hand-thrown variant. Anything goes to destroy that Nazi scum.

In the story, the resistance will sneak around to try and defeat General Deatshead. You get to see that character for a bit as well and they don’t look all too friendly.

We’re excited for Wolfenstein: The New Order. It will release on May 20, 2014 for Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
