Watch Dogs For PC Will Require Uplay

By   /   Apr 8, 2014

Today, Ubisoft announced that activation from Uplay will be mandatory for playing Watch Dogs on the PC. In a statement to IGN, a spokesperson for Ubisoft said:

Like some of our other AAA releases, including Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell Blacklist, and Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag. Watch Dogs will be available on Steam and will leverage Uplay to support the games services.

The PC version (including the purchase from Steam) will  use the Uplay client for logging in so that you can activate the game.

Uplay service received a lot of criticism at the start but now the service has become more user-friendly. Ubisoft has lifted some of the restrictions that were really annoying like being always online even if you are playing the single player campaign.

Now, you just need to activate the game one time after the purchase and after that, it will be playable all the time even without internet.

Watch Dogs is a hacking game which is taking the open world genre to a whole new level. You will be taking control of Aiden Pierce who is equipped with the technology to control all the electric systems in the city of Chicago.

Watch Dogs is expected to release on 27th of May for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
