Android TV Might be in Development at Google
According to a leaked document at Verge, Google is looking to make an Android TV which will be a source of all the entertainment for the users. It will offer TV shows, movies, music and games just like the Apple TV, Roku and just released Amazon Fire TV.
The document states that the Android TV will have a very simple interface with few cards upfront highlighting the apps, movies, music, TV shows and games.
As you can see in the leaked images below, most of the apps will be from the third party developers like Netflix, Hulu, Pandora and Vevo. The content of each app will be provided at the front-end, so the users don’t have to open the app every single time.
In the document Google wrote:
Android TV is an entertainment interface, not a computing platform. “It’s all about finding and enjoying content with the least amount of friction.” It will be “cinematic, fun, fluid, and fast.
The TV will come with the traditional remote that will help you navigate and there will also be an option to purchase a controller for your games.
Moreover, the Android TV will feature notifications and voice inputs and the usage will be very easy to understand for the newcomers. Google wrote:
Android TV is Android, optimized for the living room consumption experience on a TV screen.
Google has not yet confirmed this story but from what we have heard so far, it’s no different from any other TV devices available in the market.
