Doom 4 Beta Coming Only to PS4, Xbox One and PC; PS3 and Xbox 360 Versions Skipped

As opposed to what the users would have expected, Doom 4 beta is not being launched for all the platforms that the game will be released to. Instead, it will only be the latest generation consoles and PC that will get the beta test session.

Previously, publisher Bethesda had announced that they will bundle the Doom 4 beta with every copy of Wolfenstein: The New Order. The previous assumption was that when someone would pre-order the game on Xbox 360 he would get the beta for that version and so on for all the platforms.

However, Bethesda has announced through the official Wolfenstein website that even if an Xbox 360 or PS3 owner pre-orders Wolfenstein: The New Order, they will get the Doom 4 beta for the latest generation of their respective consoles i.e. PS4 for PS3 and Xbox One for Xbox 360:

“DOOM beta access correlates to your pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order platform. If you purchase an Xbox 360 or Xbox One version of Wolfenstein: The New Order, you will receive an invitation to the Xbox One Doom beta. PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4 purchasers will receive an invite to the PS4 Doom beta. All PC purchases will receive an invite to the PC Doom beta”

I bet many of you have been waiting for the Doom 4 beta to get out so that you can go back to the classic first person shooter universe. We shall keep you informed as more details surface.
