Warface Now Has 25 Million Registered Users

Warface, Crytek’s free to play online shooter reached its milestone of 25 million registered users. The game launched in April 2012 in Russia and later saw the release of European and North American expansions in 2013 and is set to enter Open Beta in China, Japan and Taiwan later this year.

Cevat Yerli, CEO of Crytek, appreciated the gamers on his twitter today: “Thanks to our fans and teams for your support and dedication!”

Warface is Crytek’s first free to play title and is expected to be fully free to play within 5 years.

The studio is transitioning to free to play, Yerli said the studio will transition from a developer to a service company and offer Gface; Crytek’s ‘games-as-service’ cloud gaming platform, to any developer who needs it.
