Here’s How Star Citizen Asteroid Hangar and Room System Look Like
Star Citizen is a space combat simulator with trading elements and the developer Cloud Imperium has been really elaborate about the vast universe that they are creating in the game.
Every aspect that they share is interesting and quite detailed just like the recently released half an hour long video that demonstrates the Asteroid Hangar and the Room System of the game.
Yesterday, an episode of the Wingman’s Hangar was released on YouTube where they showed off how the Asteroid Hangar was created along with introducing the Room System.
Parallel to this, the Robert Space Industries website has also detailed progress of the Asteroid Hangar saying that it is currently being built by the Hangar Team:
We’ve had a number of backers write in to ask what the status of the Asteroid Hangar. Also known aas the Pirate Hangar, the Asteroid Hangar is the upcoming fourth environment type for the Hangar Module. Citizens who have purchased the Drake Cutlass will have access to the hangar as soon as it launches.
To answer your question, the Asteroid Hangar is still in the works! It has been concepted, as you see here, and is currently being built by the Hangar Team. The Asteroid Hangar has been designed in such a way that it can expand to support larger ships, like the Drake Caterpillar, as needed. Expect to see it in action in a future update.
In the video above, you will be able to see how the Room System lets players design spaces to be used on the hangars as well as the planet. These will get you dynamic modular locations using shapes of the same nature.
On the other hand, the Asteroid Hangar will be expandable so that players can add more locations. They will be in a ‘lawless space.’
Star Citizen doesn’t have a release date yet but it is estimated that we will get the game sometime in 2015.
