Halo: Spartan Assault, the first Halo title to be released on the PC via Steam, is set to launch on April 4.
With Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 released on the PC, fans wanted to know if Halo will be returning to the PC via Steam but a Microsoft Spokesperson said that there are no plans for any Halo title released on Steam at this time.
A new Halo Title is set to launch in 2014 but it is unclear if it is 343 Industries’ Halo title for the Xbox One or the rumored Halo 2 Anniversary title.
Halo: Spartan Assault, along with being the first Halo title releasing for the PC via Steam, is also the first mobile title of the series. Released in July for the mobile devices, the title is also planned for release on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
With Online Co-op mode as well as the Single Player Expansion dubbed “Operation Hydra”, there is no news on whether cross-play will be supported by the game but Microsoft did say that cross-play between Console and PC ‘makes sense’
Halo: Spartan Assault is a twin-stick controlled top-down shooter that occurs between the events of Halo 3 and Halo 4. The game contains 30 missions and integration with Halo 4 that includes additional XP points and unlockable emblems as well as in-app purchases.
