Get Social In Free-to-Play Vita Game Destiny of Spirits

By   /   Mar 25, 2014

There’s a free-to-play game that’s exclusive on Playstation Vita called Destiny of Spirits and it will be available worldwide as of tomorrow. It’s based on social interaction between people in different regions.

Essentially, Destiny of Spirits is like a card game where you collect a bunch of things to summon into battle. Creatures are called Spirits and come in many different forms.

Two out of three currency forms, Spirit Points and Summoning Stones, are obtained through combat. With Summoning stones, it’s possible to call upon spirits just like that.

For Spirit Points, it’s a bit more complex. These can either be used to merge Spirits so that they can level up or it’s a factor when trading with other players.

Moreover, Spirit Points are used to rent other players’ Spirits. In that aspect, it’s a little like the Pawn system in Dragon’s Dogma, which tied its social aspect this way.

Since Destiny of Spirits is free to play, there’s also a monetization aspect. Destiny Orbs can be purchased in the Playstation Store and these are used for advanced purposes and rare items.

Rare Spirits will sometimes feature some Playstation franchises. For instance, you’ll be able to find a creature in the form of Knack, the Playstation 4 launch game.
