Infamous: Second Son Sequel Could Take Assassin’s Creed or Bioshock Like Approach

Alright it has just been a couple of days since Second Son got released but we can’t help it when the developer itself brings up Infamous: Second Son sequel in a conversation, can we?

Nate Fox of Sucker Punch Studios was interviewed by OPM where he discussed the future of the Infamous series pretty extensively.

He was asked would he like to take an approach like Assassin’s Creed i.e. using the same core mechanics but implementing them on almost anybody, to this his reply not only included Assassin’s Creed but Bioshock in the games that the Infamous: Second Son sequel could resemble spiritually:

Yeah, that’s a great example. Those games have that feeling. Spiritually, like Bioshock to Bioshock Infinite, there’s not really a lot of overlap in those games but you can tell they’re the same.

There was another interesting question about Sucker Punch Studios being pushed to stick to one game i.e. Infamous, he initially insisted that they kind of liked it since the game’s universe is broad and full of ideas that could be used in the next game:

inFamous is a really broad concept – an everyday person gets powers and decides if they want to use them for good or evil. That could be anybody of any age, any gender, any time, any country. It’s as wide open as superhero fiction.

This was followed by another interesting statement:

So long as it has that core thing which is trying to earnestly say ‘Okay, she gets powers, is she going to hurt or help?’ and try and explore that.

Did you see the explicit choice of the gender here? So maybe we could see a female protagonist in the Infamous: Second Son sequel?

The complete interview is pretty lengthy and you might check it out here. Do come back and fill us in on your speculations about Infamous: Second Son sequel.
