EverQuest Next Landmark Closed Beta Begins March 26, Alpha Ends on Sunday

We have good news for you Landmarkians!

Sony Online Entertainment has announced that the EverQuest Next Landmark closed beta will start on March 26. Of course this means that the alpha session will be going away along with all the data.

With EverQuest Next Landmark closed beta is right around the corner, SOE will be taking the game down for maintenance. The alpha will end on Sunday March 23 after which the servers will be down on March 24 and March 25 during which all the data will be wiped and new islands will be loaded.

To get ready for the end of Alpha, we *highly recommend* that you template any items on your claims that you want to resurrect during Closed Beta. Consider templating things with props, without props, and possibly even re-textured as dirt or something simple so that you can rebuild it easily when you have few resources available.

SOE will be templating your claims when the data from Aplha is wiped out but they insist that since it will require a vast amount of resources to template many of the claims, you should go ahead and create your own templates. This will make it easier to restore all the items that you have created in the Alpha when EverQuest Next Landmark closed beta starts on March 26.

Remember, the wipe is going to remove everything from the game apart from your name, your templates and purchased items. This means when the EverQuest Next Landmark closed beta kicks off, on the coming Wednesday, everyone will be at the same footing.

How do you like that?
