Bohemia Interactive has been busy with the next DayZ Standalone update. You will be able to see that if you check out the elaborate details that they have given on the changes that we should expect in the game after the update is released.
Highlights would be certain new towns, improvements to weapon models and pizza baking facilities! Actually it’s a fire oven they are talking about, don’t take the pizza baking to your heart.
They didn’t really give away any details about the upcoming new towns in DayZ Standalone except for two teaser images and a single sentence that reads:
New towns in Chernarus. Our map team has been very busy; here are some sneak previews of some new areas that are coming in the next update.
Here are the two images that they shared:

Moving on, it is extremely important in DayZ Standalone that people get to cook properly, the other is lighting up a fireplace.
The developers have created a new system to deal with the emissive textures of the fires and combined that with heat haze.
As a result players will now be able to make fire ovens for themselves too. See image below:

Lastly, a couple of screenshots were shared to detail the progress that the art team has made with the weapon models. Alongside this, the post explained that the AKM model was almost complete and they are currently working on staging it.
The AKM is going to have a wood body with some of the more modern customization that the AK has received recently. The post also reads:
A side-mounted PSO scope is being developed in tandem which players will be able to mount AK-pattern weapons.
Other areas that the upcoming DayZ Standalone update will bring include tweaks to collisions, animals, zombie pathfinding, arrows, mouse acceleration, certain elements of physics and the player control.
Go here to read up on all the expected changes in detail.
The DayZ Standalone update is going to be unscheduled; all we know is that they will put it up when they feel that it is good to go so keep an eye out for it.
