Various accusations have raised questions in the mind of gamers regarding the graphics of From Software’s latest role playing game. As a result the developer has finally addressed the Dark Souls 2 downgrade issue through an official statement.

From Software’s spokesperson came up with a statement defending the issues that developers face while making a game including resource management and quality of graphics:

Throughout the game development process, a game is constantly being balanced not only in game playability, but also in the realm of resource management. A developer is always challenged with creating the most rewarding gaming experience while delivering continuity in graphical quality, gameplay dynamics, and balance within the game. The final version of Dark Souls II displays the culmination of this delicate balance and we’re very proud of the positive media and fan reception for the game.

Although Dark Souls 2 downgrade was highly criticized by the community, the game still has a rating of 92 on MetaCritic which is the highest for current gen titles ever since Grand Theft Auto 5 was released.

The quality of the gameplay, its demanding efforts and intense environment has also been highly praised by hardcore gamers and critics alike.

Moreover, this is not the only game that is being accused of a graphics downgrade; previously Watch Dogs has also been at the receiving end of similar criticism.

What do you think of the Dark Souls 2 downgrade issue? Do you think it is something that From Software could have avoided without having to get torn between resources?
