South Park: The Stick of Truth Errors, Crashes, Audio, Voice and Graphics Fixes
When South Park: The Stick of Truth was revealed for the first time in late 2011, fans of the series were quite excited to see the famous TV Show get the video game treatment. However, due to a couple of unfortunate setbacks, the game’s release had to face multiple delays.
Now, looking at the final product, I will have to say that Obsidian Entertainment along with the South Park Digital Studios has done a great job with South Park: The Stick of Truth and has made the wait worth it.
The game has been admired by the critics and fans alike and I believe that it deserves all the praise. But despite its shining release, there are some issues that are hindering players to enjoy the game completely.
That’s not a new thing, is it? PC games tend to have different problems at launch. Luckily though, some of these problems can be fixed by simple workarounds while some others need to be patched by developers.
If you are having any trouble in running South Park: The Stick of Truth properly, you can browse through the following troubleshooting guide to find the concerned probable workaround.
#1 South Park: The Stick of Truth Text Glitch Fix
Among other problems, text glitch is one annoying problem as it renders players unable to read the words. For the time being, you can try verifying the integrity of game files or re-install it to fix the problem.
#2 South Park: The Stick of Truth – How to fix No Voices Issue
If you can’t hear any voices during the cutscenes or the voice volume is too low by default, you need to use your windows sound control panel (playback devices) to change 5.1 surround to stereo.
#3 South Park: The Stick of Truth – Audio Not Synced Issue
You can use the fix mentioned on #2. If that doesn’t help, make sure that you are using the latest drivers for your sound card. You can visit your manufacturer’s website to update the drivers.
#4 South Park: The Stick of Truth – “Screen Without Video While Hitting Targets Fix”
There has been a weird bug in the game which does not allow players to see any proper video on the screen with various graphical glitches. To fix the issue, you need to first delete your config file in the game’s directory.
After deleting the file, verify the integrity of game files so that the missing files are added. And if the problem still persists, head to your game files save location and delete “user.ini” from there. This should fix the problem.
#5 South Park: The Stick of Truth – Resolution Not Supported Fix
If you somehow are stuck with a resolution that is not supported by your screen, you can delete the config file to reset the settings manually. You can find the config file in your save games folders in your documents (Documents\My Games\ South Park).
#6 South Park: The Stick of Truth – Keyboard not Working Fix
If your game isn’t detecting your keyboard, you should try disconnecting your gamepad. Sometimes, if controllers are plugged in before launching the game, the keyboard is automatically chosen as the secondary device making it useless for any function.
#7 South Park: The Stick of Truth – Directx 9 Error Fix
If you aren’t able to play the game due to some error related to directx 9, following workaround may fix the problem for you:
- First, you should navigate to C:\Users\YOURUSER\AppData\Local\Temp\ and then find a directory by the name of “\DXE677.tmp\” or similar.
- You need to delete it.
- After deleting that directory, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\South Park – The Stick of Truth\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010\ and the directx setup.
- This should fix the problem.
If you can’t complete the installation yet, you may also want to delete another directory at C:\Users\YOURUSER\AppData\Local\Temp\DXE677.tmp\. This time however, you will have to restart your PC and then try installing the directx again.
