Borderlands 2 PS Vita Rumored By Dell To Launch April 15
While an official release date is still pending, the Playstation Vita version of Borderlands 2 is rumored to possibly appear on April 15, 2014. According to the Dell website, the handheld port would release that day.
Some things are speculated to line up with this date. For instance, April 15 falls on a Tuesday, which is the common release day for Playstation releases in North America.
Moreover, the PS Vita version would land on the same day as the final piece of downloadable content (DLC) for Borderlands 2. Sir Hammerlock vs. the Son of Crawmerax has its DLC take place on an abandoned island, where Vault Hunters try to rescue the titular character.
Speaking of DLC content, the PS Vita version will launch with 6 add-on packs included. We’ll list these below:
- Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage Add On Campaign
- Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty Add On Campaign
- Psycho Character Class
- Mechromancer Character Class
- Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1
- Collector’s Edition Pack
If you also own a Playstation 3, you’ll be able to enjoy a cross-play feature. Save files will continue seamlessly between console and handheld.
Since its conception a year and a half ago, the shooter with roleplaying aspirations has grown considerably. It received numerous DLC additions and raised its original level from 50 to 72.
A big pull to the game stems from a combination of cooperative game modes and tons of loot to find on the way. On PS Vita, you’ll be able to team up with up to 4 players online as well.
Developer Iron Galaxy Studios is in charge of the PS Vita port of Borderlands 2. It previously had a hand in the development of games like Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara and Divekick.
Borderlands 2 on PS Vita will launch for $39.99.
