Developer Carnivore Studio released some more teasing info about their horror game Kodoku. A short and dark clip doesn’t reveal much, but it does show off its art style.
We can see some of the grimmer anime art the game will work with, featuring strange monsters, like a giant scorpion. Further on, a pig with a person’s face is eating a corpse. That’s the sort of lovely imagery you’re going to need to get accustomed to.
Additionally, the company released its first in-game screenshots that showcase a little more practical info. For instance, Kodoku will be seen from a distant perspective.
A white-haired protagonist stands at the center of this game. In screenshots, he is seen holding a lantern, probably used for darker environments.
A rather old-looking man, he’s dressed in a suit and tie and wearing gloves. There seems to be cutscenes where the player can attack.
In another image, however, things aren’t going too well for this character. He seems to be getting stabbed by a ghost, amidst the silhouettes of cockroaches and other creepy bugs.
Gore appears to be a recurring theme in the game, as dismembered, severed corpses litter the countryside. There’s mention of a “thing” lurking about. That’s always good news, right?
Kodoku looks extremely gruesome right now. It will release for Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita.
Daav has been playing games since Atari was a thing and still likes games that look old, but also new stuff. There's no allegiance to platforms or genres; anything big and small can make a good game. This gives him a ton of perspectives to write about.
