Sony has announced a PS4 and Vita bundle that will be available for purchase before Christmas this year.
The step isn’t surprising since Sony has been constantly pushing for their remote play functionality on the Vita. In fact the company was pretty adamant during their PlayStation 4 reveal event this summer about every PlayStation 4 title featuring support for remote play.
We’ve already seen that in action for Killzone: Shadow Fall and the shooter runs marvelously on the smaller device with no added problems.
“We’re really excited for Vita as we move into Christmas,” said senior product manager Ben Law. “We’ve got a great campaign with key messaging around new releases like Tearaway, the ever-growing game catalogue and the Remote Play service.”
The campaign mentioned by Law here is a £2.5 million TV campaign, entitled ‘The Best Way to Play’. The campaign will be highlighting the ability for players to play off screen on the Vita, something that Sony believes is a strong selling point for the handheld.
An exact release date or price has not been mentioned but expect the bundle to hit retail early next month.
