Pokemon X and Y Easter Eggs and Secrets

By   /   2 years ago

Easter Eggs add a whole new flavor to the game with references to different characters and things. Pokemon X and Y too, has a large arsenal of Easter Eggs which can be found throughout the game.

Some of these Easter Eggs are either references to previous Pokemon installments or other video games. For more help on Pokemon X and Y, read our Breeding, Easy Money and Berry Farming Guide.

Pokemon X and Y Easter Eggs

Dragonball Z
Soon after you defeat the Psychic Trainer at the very start of the game – you are told that your powers must be ‘over 9000’ which is an obvious reference to ‘The Return of the Goku’.

A game in which a cool little guy “runs around and whacks enemies to the beat of the music.” Visit Pokemon Center in Sharlour City to speaking to you about a game he is currently playing which is supposedly HarmoKnight developed by Game Freak.

Pokemon Franchise
While playing the game, you will come across countless instances during which regions of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova will be mentioned.

Muhammad Ali Reference
At some random instances, while undergoing Super Training with Sandbags, you will be told, ‘float like a butterfree, sting like a beedrill’ which is an obvious reference to Muhammad Ali’s famous quote.

Nintendo 3DS and Wii U
Soon as the game begins, you will find your character holding a Nintendo 3DS XL with a Wii U lying on the floor. If your character is a boy, it will be in black color otherwise it will be white.

That’s all Easter Eggs we have found so far! If you happen to come across some others, do let us know in the Comment Section below!

Arslan is a competitive Tekken and Call of Duty player and crushes pretty much everyone at the office in these games. He loves reading and writing about games and is deathly allergic to half-boiled potatoes.

Not much of an easter egg but… after you cause team flare to disband, there is a gigantic hole in the ground with all the houses flipped over in geosenge town, find the only house not flipped, and talk to a man who is staring out the window. He will say that basically your entire adventure is fake.

it could be a reference to the creepy-pasta ash’s coma???

    • Inu No Kimi

He says “Someone wandering for 3,000 years trying to find a Pokemon…
I’ve heard a story about a man like that, but you can’t believe everything you hear.” Not that the whole entire adventure is fake.

In the poke ball factory a team flare grunt says don’t worry be happy referencing the song don’t worry be happy

when fighting the champion of this game the music has a tiny part in it that is completly the same as the song of the champion in the hoenn region. maybe this could be a refference to a remake of the games of saphire en ruby.

When playing Pokemon x or y using the limited edition Pikachu Edition 3DSXL, the 3DS console you are holding at the beginning of the game when you get out of bed; will also be the Pikachu edition 3DS XL. (Yellow and white with pikachu on the front)

I’m uncertain if it works for the Pokemon x and Y version consoles as well. But I personally own a Pikachu edition, and was extremely surprised when I started the game and it recognized what model 3DSXL I was using. I didn’t know it wasn’t true for all colors of the 3DS though.

I have the standard blue 3DS, (launch edition, even though that wasn’t really a thing) I only saw the Wii U, where is the 3DS?

      • Inu No Kimi

I think you only see it if you play as a girl.

Theres a Team Flare Grunt that says ‘Only Team Flare is stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive’… Could be a reference to the song ‘Stayin’ Alive’…
