BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Achievements Revealed
While “mum’s the word” seems to be Irrational’s official policy regarding the story and gameplay elements of the incoming DLC for BioShock Infinite, the developers couldn’t quite keep everything under wraps.
The only thing so far to leak out of the re-imagined underwater city of Rapture seems to be a small set of achievements:
Down in the Briney
Took a Bathysphere ride in Burial at Sea – Episode One.
Burial at Sea
Completed Burial at Sea – Episode One.
Collected all Audio Diaries in Burial at Sea – Episode One.
Purchased any two upgrades for Old Man Winter or Radar Range in Burial at Sea – Episode One.
Destroyed ten Turrets in Burial at Sea – Episode One.
Cook and Serve
Made 5 enemies explode with the Radar Range in Burial at Sea – Episode One.
Damaged fifteen foes with an exploding enemy, using the Radar Range in Burial at Sea – Episode One.
Break the Ice
Shattered 5 enemies who had been frozen with Old Man Winter.
Froze 2 enemies with the same Old Man Winter trap.
Rode the tram in Burial at Sea – Episode One.
Although the achievements do not provide any insights into Burial at Sea’s story, but they do tell us a little about what to expect from the gameplay side of things, and that we’ll be using Rapture’s tram network to travel around the underwater metropolis.
Additionally, we’ll be able to ride the Bathysphere – well at least once anyway. Old Man Winter, the fan created ‘Vigor’ (called Plasmids in Burial At Sea as they were called in the first two BioShock games) that Ken Levine confirmed via Twitter would be added to the game, seems to have a few achievements based on it in the DLC.
The achievements also mention a new plasmid called ‘Radar Range’.
“Burial At Sea: Episode 1” will let players experience a functional Rapture and allow them to witness the fall of the underwater marvel first-hand. Booker and Elizabeth’s role in the future of Rapture, why the two don’t recognize each other and how and why they’re both in the submerged city remain unexplained.
The first episode in BioShock Infinite’s planned DLC is expected to come out before the end of the year. No official release date has been confirmed as of yet.
