List of Games that are Switching from Windows Live to Steamworks
Alright so this is a very small list and it comes as a shocker to me because once the Games For Windows Live servers shutdown, all the games there will be rendered unplayable unless they get them transferred.
Thanks to PCGamingWiki , we have learnt about the complete list of third party DRM and titles that are still running on Games For Windows Live and the list of games that are switching well in time before the servers completely shut down on July 1 next year.
Any game that doesn’t patch out the DRM authentication system for its single player content will make the game completely unplayable.
Here are the forward thinkers:
- Bioshock 2
- Batman: Arkham Asylum Game of the Year Edition
- F1 2010
- F1 2011
- Fallout 3
- Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
- Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Colonies Edition
- Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition
- Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II
Sadly, games like Lost Planet 2, Flatout, Fuel, The Club, Red Faction Guerrilla and Kane & Lynch: Dead Men among many others still haven’t received any announcement regarding a change. The story for Resident Evil 5 or Grand Theft Auto IV is the same as well.
I am wondering why the developers are so slow on reacting on this, the games that are still there cannot be left to rot just like that. Steamworks could be a perfectly suitable substitute and obviously a much less bug infested one.
Let’s just hope that rest of the in-demand titles get their games converted to Steamworks in time. Is there any specific game that you are worried about? Check out the list at PCGamingWiki and let us know below.
