As we reported previously, Sega announced a new Yakuza game named Yakuza Ishin (loosely translated into Yakuza Restoration) on August 18. The historical spin off of a readily acclaimed Yakuza series has now been announced for a launch title release when PS4 comes out in Japan.
Don’t get your hopes too high though, the game has not been announced for release in the western markets so far and the chances are bleak for the future too. This means that the Japanese community will see the game on February 22 along with the next gen console.
PlayStation will actually release 3 months late in the home country of its makers. Sony has confirmed the release date during SCE Japan Asia’s PlayStation Press Conference yesterday for ¥39,980 (£255 / $400) excluding sales tax.
19 launch titles were also shared for the next generation console including Yakuza Ishin/Restoration.
The developer Sega is venturing into the feudal system of historical Japan come Yakuza Ishin and just as we reported previously, the game is expected to have something to do with either the Meiji Restoration or the Kenmu Restoration eras that date back centuries.
This is only the second game in the series that has gone beyond its usual modern tone to a contextually historic time. Previously, Ryū ga Gotoku Kenzan! A Japan only release was set in the 1600’s.
Yakuza Ishin will be taking a feudal outlook replacing its usual well dressed modern men who are the heralds of justice and it surely looks great on the next gen, have a look at the trailer above.
Now that the game has been announced as a PS4 launch title, it has also been told through a press release that the game will be available on PS3 and PS Vita too.
