Next Mass Effect Game is “Really Moving Forward”
After the end of the Mass Effect trilogy, nobody was sure what was going to happen. When the untitled sequel was announced, nobody was sure what to expect. Well, even if we all sit around doubting the future of the series, the developers seem to be more than happy with it.
Ken Thain, the Creative Director, spoke out on Twitter to really big up the work that they’re doing on the new Mass Effect title.
“New #MassEffect story and main character reviews today. This sh**’s gettin’ real! I think the fans will be really excited to play this story,”
It’s not just Thain that is getting excited about everything though. Producer Mike Gameble also jumped on the Twitter bandwagon to show off how excited he was about BioWare’s newest project.
“Lots of great @masseffect meetings today. Things are really moving forward. It’s great to be involved in the universe again.”
BioWare are still keeping a tight ship and are yet to officially reveal any information about the new game other than that it is in production. They’ve thrown out a few vague details, but we still haven’t had much solid information about the game or what it means for the future of the series.
We do know that they want to keep the open world kind of gameplay, with plenty of different options for different kinds of play. There’s also support for more GLBTI storylines to be included, so that every kind of player can feel welcomed by this series and game.
We also know that Commander Shepard won’t be returning, meaning that this will feature a brand new main character. Shepard’s story came to a close with the end of Mass Effect 3, and BioWare don’t want to beat a dead horse. There has been talk of this being a prequel game, so that doesn’t mean we might not see Commander Shepard in his younger days as part of a mission somewhere.
