The Last of Us Tags and Unlocks Guide – Skins, Concept Art and More!

In ‘The Last of Us’, you will be able to earn tags while playing both the single-player as well as multiplayer mode. In this guide, I have written Bronze, Silver and Gold in front of few tags meaning that these tags are also serve as trophies.

The Last of Us Tags and Unlocks

During the single-player play-through, earning these tags will earn you cash which you can then to purchase items from the store. The total amount that you will earn from earning these tags will be $12,500 which is enough to buy everything from store.

Note. Multiplayer tags do not earn you any money.

Single-player Tags

During the single-player campaign, you can earn tags and trophies by completing certain tasks.

CollectablesRead our Collectibles Guide to find every collectible in the game.
Below here is a list of tags and trophies that you can earn by finding all the collectables scattered throughout the game. These collectables include; Firefly Pendants, Comics, Artifacts and Training Manuals.

  • Find 1 Firefly Pendant to earn $100 cash and ‘Fallen Firefly’ tag.
  • Find 10 Firefly Pendants to earn $100 cash and ‘Firefly Squad’ tag.
  • Find 20 Firefly Pendants to earn $100 cash and ‘Firefly Militia’ tag.
  • Find all 30 Firefly Pendants to earn $250 cash and ‘Look for the Light’ tag & ‘Silver’ trophy.
  • Find 3 Comics to earn $100 cash and ‘Daniela Star’ tag.
  • Find 7 Comics to earn $100 cash and ‘Savage Starlight Fan’ tag.
  • Find all Comics to earn $250 cash and ‘Endure & Survive’ tag and ‘Bronze’ trophy.
  • Find 1 Artifact to earn $100 cash and ‘Collector’ tag.
  • Find 10 Artifacts to earn $100 cash and ‘Nostalgic’ tag.
  • Find 30 Artifacts to earn $100 cash and ‘Every nook & Cranny’ tag.
  • Find all Artifacts to earn $250 cash and ‘It was all just lying there’ tag and ‘Silver’ trophy.
  • Find 1 Training Manual to earn $100 cash and ‘Self Help’ tag.
  • Find 6 Training Manuals to earn $100 cash and ‘Reading Material’ tag.
  • Find all Training Manuals to earn $250 cash and ‘I got this’ tag and ‘Bronze’ trophy.
  • Find all Collectables to earn $500 cash and ‘Scavenger’ and ‘Gold’ trophy.

Crafting one of each item in the game will earn you a Bronze trophy and crafting 30 of each item will earn you all the tags related to crafting.

  • Crafting 30 upgraded melee weapons will earn you $100 cash and ‘Melee Crafter’ tag.
  • Craft 30 Shivs to earn $100 cash and ‘Shiv Crafter’ tag.
  • Craft 30 Health Kits to earn $100 cash and ‘Kit Crafter’ tag.
  • Craft 30 Molotov’s to earn $100 cash and ‘Molotov Crafter’ tag.
  • Craft 30 Nail Bombs to earn $100 cash and ‘Bomb Crafter’ tag.
  • Craft 30 Smoke Bombs to earn $100 cash and ‘Smoke Crafter’ tag.
  • Craft every item to earn $100 cash and ‘Let’s Gear Up’ tag and ‘Bronze’ trophy.

These are look like ordinary doors that require a Shiv to open them. Finding them all will earn you a Bronze trophy.

  • Unlock 1 Shiv Door to earn $100 cash and ‘Secret Cache’ tag.
  • Unlock 5 Shiv Doors to earn $100 cash and ‘Breaking & Entering’ tag.
  • Unlock all Shiv Doors to earn $250 and ‘Master of Unlocking’ tag and ‘Bronze’ trophy.

Upgrading Joel & WeaponsFor more help on Upgrading, read our Joel Supplements and Weapons Upgrades guide.
Upgrading Joel will allow you to earn a couple of tags. However, if you wish to unlock the two trophies for this section then you must fully upgrade Joel and purchase all the weapon upgrades.

This may require you to play the game more than once as you will not be able to find enough items in the first play through.

  • Upgrading a skill will earn you $100 cash and ‘Take you Vitamins’ tag.
  • Upgrading a skill fully will earn you $100 cash and ‘Performance Enhancement’ tag.
  • Upgrading Joel fully will earn you $250 cash and ‘Everything we’ve been through’ tag and ‘Silver’ trophy.
  • Upgrading all weapons will earn you $500 and ‘For emergencies only’ tag and ‘Gold’ trophy.

To trigger an optional conversation, you must press triangle when you see it above a person’s head or an object. Ellie’s jokes are also a part of optional conversations. However, in order to hear them you must perform certain actions in Pittsburgh and The Suburbs.

  • Engaging an optional conversation will earn you $100 cash and ‘Getting to know you’ tag.
  • Engaging in 10 optional conversations will earn you $100 cash and ‘Small talk’ tag.
  • Engaging in 20 optional conversations will earn you $100 cash and ‘Bonding’ tag.
  • Engaging in all optional conversations will earn you $250 cash and ‘I want to talk about it’ tag and a ‘Silver’ trophy.
  • Listening to Ellie’s joke will earn you $100 cash and ‘No pun intended’ tag.
  • Listen to 2 Ellie’s jokes will earn you $250 cash and ‘No pun intended: Part Two’ tag.
  • Listen to all of Ellie’s jokes to earn $500 cash and ‘That’s all I got’ tag and ‘Gold’ trophy.

Stealth Kills
Get behind an enemy and kill him sneakily will count towards stealth kills. Doing this 20 times will earn you $100 cash and ‘Bare hands’ tag.

Completing the Game
Completing the game will earn you a couple of trophies while completing the game and new game plus on Survivor difficulty will earn all of these trophies.

  • Completing the game on Easy will earn you $250 and ‘No matter what – Easy’ tag and ‘Bronze’ trophy.
  • Completing the game on Normal will earn you $250 and ‘No matter what – Normal’ tag and ‘Silver’ trophy.
  • Completing the game on Hard will earn you $500 and ‘No matter what – Hard’ tag and ‘Silver’ trophy.
  • Completing the game on Survivor will earn you $500 cash and ‘No matter what – Survivor’ tag and ‘Gold’ trophy.
  • Completing the game on Easy+ will earn you $250 cash and ‘The Last of Us – Easy+’ tag and ‘Silver’ trophy.
  • Completing the game on Normal+ will earn you $250 cash and ‘The Last of Us – Normal+’ tag and ‘Silver’ trophy.
  • Completing the game on Hard+ will earn you $500 cash and ‘The Last of Us – Hard+’ tag and ‘Gold’ trophy.
  • Completing the game on Survivor+ will earn you $500 cash and ‘The Last of Us – Survivor+’ tag and trophy.

Killing Infected
Earning these tags is not an easy task and will test the best abilities of you.

After separating from Ellie and Henry, make your way to the old camp and you will find Stalkers who will not be aware of you. Sneak behind one of them and kill it earn one tag.

To kill a Bloater from close range, you will first need to do a lot of damage from any weapon you have and then get near it and blast it off with a shotgun or a flamethrower.

For the final tag, you will have to take out 25 Clickers with Shiv. This will require you to have a ton of Shivs at your disposal.

  • Killing a Bloater from close range will earn you $100 cash and ‘Too close for comfort’ tag.
  • Killing a Stalker sneakily from behind will earn you $100 cash and ‘The Hunter becomes the Hunted’ tag.
  • Using Shiv to kill 25 Clickers will earn you $100 cash and ‘Personal space’ tag.

Multiplayer

There are a total of 4 trophies that you can earn while playing the multiplayer mode of ‘The Last of Us’. Also note that, the tags in the multiplayer mode do not earn you any money.

  1. Winning a game of Team Deathmatch and Elimination will earn you a ‘Bronze’ trophy and ‘Knowing the basics’ tag.
  2. Building your clan to 40 people in Supply Run online will earn you a ‘Bronze’ trophy and ‘Populace’ tag.
  3. Completing the Firefly journey will earn you a ‘Gold’ trophy and ‘Firefly’ tag.
  • Completing the Hunter journey will earn you a ‘Gold’ trophy and ‘Hunter’ tag.

Store
Now that you know how to earn specific tags and what trophies and how much cash will these tags get you! It is high time that you know where to spend the cash you earned by putting hours and hours into the game.

Store is accessible via Bonuses menu. While in the store, you will be able to purchase out of a total of three options and those are; Skins, Concept Arts and Render Mode.

However, you should note that you must complete the game on a particular difficulty to prior to purchasing Render Mode and Skins.

As for Concept Arts, you will need to complete a specific chapter first and also you will be able to use Skins and Render Mode only in new game+.
