Thief: 10 Minutes of Gameplay Released

By   /   Jun 18, 2013

A demo of the new Thief was shown by Sony running on the PlayStation 4 at this year’s E3. The firm has now released 10 minutes of gameplay footage captured from that E3 very presentation.

In the video we’re introduced to a City which is ruled by the Baron with an iron fist. He’s corrupt, ruthless, and has everything you’d expect a game villain to have. His actions though soon spark a revolution, which is where our favorite thief Garrett comes in. He is tasked with infiltrating the Baron’s manor and steal…. borrow a precious gem called the Heart of the Lion.

Stephane Roy, producer at Eidos Montreal points out that every objective in the game can be approached by players differently. You can opt to be silent and use stealth to overcome obstacles or you can be aggressive and kill every living being standing in between.

One of the new features showcased is Focus, which can be used in multiple ways, like increasing Garrett’s aiming ability or to reveal hidden objects. Focus isn’t self regenerating, requiring players to locate certain items like a poppy to replenish it.

Thief is set for launch on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC later this year.
