Wii U! Y U got no love?
Senior Vice President of Sports Operations of 2K Games, Jason Argent, confirmed today that Wii U will not be getting NBA 2K14.
What he said was that the studio wanted to utilize all their resources to create a game that is amazing in all aspects both of current-gen and next-gen of consoles. To put into his words,
“We are not doing a Wii U version this year, The decision was made internally that resources would be best put toward building a really, really amazing current-generation and next-generation game and we didn’t want to take resources away from creating amazing experiences on all those platforms.”
Argent made the announcement during a press conference where he announced the game itself with a few other details.
Although the game will also release for Xbox One and Playstation IV, there is no confirmed release date.
However, the game will hit the store shelves on October 1st, 2013 for Xbox 360 and Playstation III.
Argon further added that NBA 2K14 is 2K Game’s “Biggest endeavor yet” and the game will offer something to everyone out there.
Moreover, Miami Heat’s Lebron James will be featured on the official cover of the game. It is for the very first time that he is appearing on a game’s cover.
The awesomeness never ends. Those who will pre-order the game either for Xbox 360 or Playstation III will get 10,000 of in-game money; Lebron James’s signed skill and a bunch of extra content for various game modes.
Argent sounds so confident of the game that he even went on to call it the best sports video game, world has ever seen.
Argent also answered a few question regarding the competition with Electronic Arts’ NBA series that is finally making a comeback after disappearing for so long.
He said that the company’s focus is just to make a better game every year and keep the fans happy and contented with the content they deliver.
