Resident Evil 7 Will Not Be Announced At E3

Tragic news gamers, it seems that the Resident Evil 7 poster that’s been floating around the internet and driving fans of the series into a frenzy is nothing more than a hoax. Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil 7 will not be announced at this year’s E3.

This news should come as good news to Resident Evil fans that felt the series lost its focus with Resident Evil 6. Capcom probably need to take some time to recover their focus and rushing out Resident Evil 7 could go over pretty badly.

Furthermore, Capcom has released a console version of Resident Evil: Revelations and is planning on using that as a measuring stick to determine where to take the franchise in the future.

All these things combined imply that we won’t be seeing an announcement for the next title in the series any time this year, but it is very possible that Capcom will let us have it in 2014. After all, Resident Evil 6 was teased only a short while after the fifth installment of the series came out.

I just pray they can do it right this time. I had high hopes for RE6, which, from the trailers and screenshots and teasers looked to be the best Resident Evil ever, but sadly fell short of that goal.
