Xbox One Supports Both 3D and 4K

Microsoft’s very own Major Nelson has confirmed that their new next-gen Xbox One console will have support for both 3D and 4K.

The confirmation came through a recent Yahoo! Q&A session where he was asked if the console would support those video formats. He replied, “Indeed. Xbox One supports both 3D and 4K.”

That said, Sony had also confirmed support for both formats for their PlayStation 4. However, during the announcement Sony added that the support for 4K was only for content like photos and videos, not games.

Microsoft has not clarified whether it holds the same for their console as well.

4K or Ultra HD is the next step in visual pleasantry. In the time to come, it will replace 1080i/p as the highest resolution possible for video content.
