From today’s Xbox One announcement event, we learned that you will be able to transfer your profile and achievements from your Xbox Live account that you use now onto the new Xbox Live that will come with the next Microsoft console.
It’s good news since some people have spent seven years in pursuit of achievements and gamerscore on their Xbox 360, and some people were dismayed when they learned that they might lose everything they’ve achieved so far.
It was also revealed that developers will be able to add more achievements to a game whenever they want, either to reward players who are diligently playing a game months or years after the release or as an incentive to keep people playing their games.
Using this new system, publishers and developers have a lot more freedom. With the ability to add new achievements whenever they want, they can use them to reflect real world events; such as including achievements that revolve around the current superbowl teams in the latest NFL game.
