Ragnarok Online 2 Priest Builds Guide – Support/DPS/Hybrid

Unlike in some other MMORPGs the priest in Ragnarok Online 2 isn’t supposed to just be a pure healer and nothing else. There is a room in the class for flexibility, whether you want to play as a full support, pure DPS or a hybrid of the two. Priests are among the most fun to play.

I have included three types of Priest builds, the most common of the lot. These consist of the Full Support heal-me-up-scotty type of goody two shoes, the Pure DPS glass cannons and the jack-of-all-trades solo master Hybrids. Let’s get into them:

Ragnarok Online 2 Priest Support

Pros
+You will instantly get a party for anything and everything
+Strongest Healer in the game. Sorcerers and Soul Makers can heal but they can’t touch this.

Cons
-Soloing is bad
-Managing your threat in dungeons with respect to the tank can be difficult for new players to pick up

Stat Priority
Generally speaking, INT is king. Dump everything into INT and don’t even look at WIS because it’s a useless statistic. You might consider putting points into VIT or AGi for the added survivability or crit chance but these are the only three stats that really affect you.

Tips
When you’re in a raid and your tank is running around pulling the mobs, don’t bother healing him with anything other than Renovatio. The reason for this is that Renovatio is the heal that generates the least amount of aggro from the mobs. Until your tank starts to damage the mobs with his AoE, it’ll be very easy for you to accidentally pull someone you really don’t want to. However, once he starts his work, go nuts mashing all the keys.

You generally want to use this build when you’ve got a good team who can give you the protection that you need in raids. You also might want friends from day one of this build since grinding up the levels will be an immense pain. Fortunately your primary method for gaining levels will be through quests so it’s not all bad. Once you reach dungeon/raid levels and equipment its smooth sailing.

Ragnarok Online 2 DPS Priest

Pros
+Easy to level
+Good at PvP
+Surprising amount of AoE damage

Cons
-Shunned in Raids
-Bad single target damage
-Skills don’t scale well with AGI

Stat Priority
Once more, INT is king. It’s where the bulk of your damage for your spells comes from. When you’ve maxed out that stat dump the rest into AGI, and when you can’t upgrade that more put the leftover points into VIT. Only two of your skills actually crit, and Holy Light crits from Aspersio anyway.

Tips
You want this build when you really want to deal a lot of damage to a lot of targets at the same time. DPS Priests are actually pretty good at solo grinding and farming stuff and are actually exceptional at PvP. Use them in these situations.

Ragnarok Online 2 Hybrid Priest

Pros
+Excellent at soloing the game
+Good at Leveling/Farming
+Still retains some support aspects (parties want you)

Cons
-Difficult to use
-Not as much damage as pure DPS, not as healy as full support

Ragnarok Online 2 Priest Hybrid Build

  • Holy Light (1/5)
  • Blessing (5/5)
  • Heal (5/5)
  • Lex Divina (1/3)
  • Increase Agility (1/5)
  • Renovatio (3/3)
  • Resurrection (1/3)
  • Oratio (1/5)
  • Aqua Benedicta (1/1)
  • Meditatio (1/5)
  • Judex (1/3)
  • Aspersio (3/3)
  • Highness Heal (1/5)
  • Crescent (5/5)
  • Gloria (1/3)
  • Sacrament (1/5)
  • Adoramus (1/5)
  • Recovery (1/5)
  • Coluseo Heal (1/5)
  • Sufferagium (1/5)
  • Magnus Exorcismus (1/3)
  • Angelus (1/3)
  • Assumptio (5/5)
  • Genesis Ray (3/5)
  • Archangel (5/5)
  • Sanctuary (1/5)

Stat Priority
Since the Hybrid is really made to solo, you’re going to want to put all the points you can into VIG after maxing out INT for damage. Whatever few points are left can be put into AGI for the hell of it. Some people might argue that AGI is the better stat but I like to retain the safety and durability that comes with VIG.

You should use this build when you want to be as flexible as you can be. The Hybrid priest is difficult to master but he can do it all. He can keep the Tank/Off-Tank alive in raids, solo bosses, own in PvP. He’s just not as good at all of those jobs as a dedicated character. Still a very good way to go.
