Lost Streets of Rage Artwork

By   /   May 6, 2013

Most of our young readers are probably not aware of Streets of Rage and ESWAT: City Under Siege. Both of them are cult classics from the Sega Genesis days. However, both of these titles were condemned to poor next-gen reboots and they ultimately fell off the radar.

Now, it seems like new versions of the game were being pitched to Sega by Backbone Entertainment. Ultimately, this did not pan out. This bit of information was revealed by Backbone Entertainment artist who posted the images online on a blog.

The artwork displayed the original trio of Streets of Rage; Axel Stone, Blaze Fielding, and Adam Hunter.

If Sega had gone through these plans the game would have appeared on the PSN and XBLA.

Besides that on the blog we also have art works for Backbone Entertainment’s unreleased game Gauntlet. The game was supposed to be published by Eidos for Nintendo DS in 2008. The game even got some early review scores by videogames magazines. However, all this still did not make it appear on the store shelves.

Have a look at the artwork and share with us the nostalgic feelings.
