Dead Island Riptide Weapons Duplicate Exploit Guide – How To

Like the first Dead Island, Dead Island Riptide is plagued with glitch and bugs issues, but not all of them should be shunned off as annoyances. In fact, a couple of these will actually get you some pretty sweet stuff.

One good exploit in Dead Island is duplicating items and weapons, earning you small fortunes of gear in the process. You’ll need to prepare yourself a bit and get the hang of it before you can mass produce things, but it’s by no means rocket science (or anything close to being difficult).

So, here are the steps to initiate the glitch, which you can repeat unlimited times:

Step #1
You need to first clear up your inventory, only leaving the weapon you wish to duplicate.

Step #2
Now, equip that weapon.

Step #3
Aim high and prepare to throw the weapon. Make sure you are aiming at a place that guarantees that the weapon will travel far.

Step #4
Throw the weapon.

Step #5
While the weapon is in midair, open up your Inventory and choose to unequip the weapon you just threw.

Step #6
Now, collect the actual weapon you just threw. Check the inventory, and you’ll notice that you have two of those weapons.

Step #7
Repeat the process, and watch your inventory fill up with the same kind of weapon.

Another fun way of doing this involves you getting yourself killed. You’ll need to get to a checkpoint, drop the weapon you want to duplicate, and then get yourself killed nearby. You’ll see a respawn counter; load the checkpoint before it finishes.

You’ll respawn at the checkpoint, and you can recollect any earlier dropped item on the checkpoint location, even though you’ll have the items in your inventory.

I obviously prefer the main throwing method, because it seems to work faster and doesn’t require you finding a checkpoint or a method of getting killed. Have fun carrying around a dozen shotguns!
