Dead Island Riptide Character Save File Import Guide

By   /   Apr 23, 2013

Dead Island Riptide has been released on the PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC. In it you do have the option of creating a new character. However, if you are a sentimental fellow like me then you probably want to continue your Dead Island experience with your character from the previous game. Fortunately, Dead Island Riptide provides that option too.

For more help on Dead Island Riptide, read our Island Guide Books, Diaries and XP/Money Farming Guide.

You can import your character with a press of just a single button when you are selecting a new save slot while beginning a new game.

Keep in mind that if you do import your character, then only his skills and level will be carried over to the new game. You will have to acquire Blueprints, weapons and items form the scratch. Please note that you cannot import John as he is an altogether new character for Dead Island Riptide.

Furthermore, if you import your high level character from the previous Dead Island game, then you are going to face high level opponents from the beginning of the game. You will be doing so with level zero weapons, which mean the game is going to get ten folds more difficult just by importing your character.

Moreover, there is a new weapon category related skill, which requires “mastery” through usage. This skill starts at Level 0 regardless if you import a character or not, since they are new to Riptide.
