Madden NFL 25: Cover Athlete to be Either Barry Sanders or Adrian Peterson

By   /   Apr 18, 2013

The next cover athlete for the new Madden NFL 25 is either going to be retired Lions running back Barry Sanders or the Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson.

Barry Sanders is third on the all-time leading rusher list, with over 1,500 rushing yards to his name. Adrian Peterson, meanwhile, is coming off of an MVP season in which he racked up 2,097 yards.

Voting for the new cover athlete began with 64 candidates in March and since then over 38 million votes have been cast so far by fans.

Arian Foster was kicked out by Adrian Peterson in the semifinals by attaining 68% of the votes to 32% of Foster’s, while Barry Sanders managed to go beyond by getting 52% votes against Jerry Rice.

Barry Sanders was also the cover athlete for NCAA Football 13 so a change would be nice. However, only your votes will decide who gets his face plastered on Madden’s new cover.

You can cast your vote by going on ESPN.com/MaddenVote. The winner will be announced on ESPN SportsNation on April 24th at 8pm EST.
