Developer 343 Industries are bringing some weapon balances to Halo 4, for which they are asking the community to provide feedback.
Much of the balance changes are focused towards ‘precision weapons’, specifically the popular DMR which may be either weakened or else other weapons would be improved.
Here are some of the proposals developer 343 has come up with to balance out the multiplayer. You can send them feedback over whatever catches your eye.
Most weapons will be tweaked to reduce the amount of shots needed to kill opponents. The Battle Rifle, for example, will now kill in four bursts instead of five, and the Carbine will take seven shots instead of eight.
The Light Rifle reticule will now turn red at the same distance as it does for the DMR.
Suppressor, Assault and Storm Rifles in the close-range weapons list will be buffed up. While they will have increased damage, the accuracy of these weapons will be decreased in compensation.
Damage on the Warthog and Mantis vehicles will be increased as well.
All the proposed changes mentioned above are not final. “In fact, they are as far from final as they can be without being not final,” wrote Halo community manager Jessica Shea. “Please recognize this is a work-in-progress, we will clearly communicate our final plan once we know it, and until then, we’ll provide weekly updates about its current status.”
