These Rhino-styled creatures have a very hard head, and thus you’ll want to target their bodies instead. Their rock-like rostral region can absorb high amounts of damage, but their bodies take reasonable hits from bullets and impacts.
You can carve the body of the Rhenoplos twice. Here is what you’ll get:
Low Rank: Rhenoplos Shell 35%) Raw Meat 35%) Monster Bone M 20%) Rhenoplos Scalp 10%)
High Rank: Rheno Carapace 35%) Raw Meat 20%) Rhenoplos Shell 15%) Rhenoplos Scalp 15%) Monster Bone M 15%)
G-Rank: Rhenoplos Bone 50%) Rheno Carapace 30%) Raw Meat 20%)
These green bulky rhino-like creatures heave a good defense rating, no matter where you’re hitting them. The best option is cuts and bullets.
You can acquire the following from body carving (twice) the Slagtoth:
High Rank: Slagtoth Oil 40%) Slagtoth Hide+ 40%) Raw Meat 15%) Monster Bone+ 5%)
G-Rank: Slagtoth Hide+ 35%) Rhenoplos Bone 30%) Slagtoth Oil 20%) Raw Meat 15%)
The Uroktor is a fiery lizard-like creatue with two front limbs. It has immunity to fire damage, and very high resistance to other elemental damages. The best options are cuts and impacts.
You can obtain the following from body carving a Uroktor:
Low Rank: Uroktor Scale 60%) Monster Bone M 30%) Dragonfell Berry 10%)
High Rank: Uroktor Scale+ 55%) Monster Bone M 20%) Dragonfell Berry 15%) Uroktor Scale 10%)
Large monsters in the game are a lot tougher. The body carving and item gaining system associated with them is also quite different. Firstly, many of them have breakable parts, such as front limbs or tails. These individual parts can be carved as well to get items, depending on the monster. You also obtain valuable items from them after capturing.
In addition to items, Large monsters behave differently as well. They will tend to enter an ‘aggressive’ mode, which will raise their attack, speed, and/or defense for specific kinds of attacks.
Another important thing to remember is that most Large Monsters actually come in three sizes: small, big, and king. The King are obviously the meanest of the set.
The bear styled Arzuros has amazing resistance to elemental damage. You will want to target its upper body, as that is the weakest point under all circumstances. The best method is to get some bullet damage there, though the defense will obviously increase when it is enraged.
You’ll probably find these creatures in the Desert Island and the Misty Peaks.
You can body carve them 3 times in total. Here is what you’ll get:
The Agnaktor is a mighty fiery beast. The creature obviously has immunity to Fire, and takes the most amount of damage on its head. You shouldn’t even of hitting its body or back area, as these are the most durable parts of the monster.
You’ll find the Agnaktor only in the Volcano.
You can body carve them three times. Here is what you’ll get:
High Rank: Agnaktor Hide+ 30%) Agnaktor Fin+ 23%) Agnak Carapace 16%) Agnaktor Claw+ 12%) Firecell Stone 8%) Scalding Pleura+ X2 8%) Wyvern Stone 3%)
G-Rank: Agnaktor Piel 30%) Fine Agnak Fin 23%) Agnaktor Talon 12%) Agnaktor Fin+ X2 10%) Allfire Stone 8%) Scorching Pleura X2 8%) Firecell Stone X2 6%) Lrg Wyvern Stone 3%)
The Glacial Agnaktor is the same thing as the standard one, except that it’s just all ice, and hence a tad bit meaner. The creature has immunity to water and ice elementals, taking the best damage from impacts on the head. Note that you won’t encounter the beast on Low Rank.
You can find the glacial version of the Agnaktor in the Tundra.
You can body carve the icy creature 3 times. Here is what you’ll get:
G-Rank: G.Agnak Piel 30%) Fine G.Agnak Fin 23%) Drenched Pleura X2 12%) Gracium X2 11%) G.Agnak Beak X2 10%) G.Agnak Talon 10%) Lrg Wyvern Stone 4%)
The Barioth is a majestic saber tooth-cum-dragon beast that has immunity to water and ice elementals. The creature has an overall very high elemental defense rating, and is most susceptible to attacks on its head with bullets.
The T-Rex-like Barroth is consider a very tough foe for those new to the game. The monstrous creature has very high defenses, except for its legs. It also has a strange elemental immunity pattern; it is initially immune to fire and susceptible to water, but when it is enraged it becomes immune to water and susceptible to fire.
